A Special Day Today

This is a very special day today for me. My mother is having her 90th birthday celebration at my sister's home this afternoon at 3:00pm. This will be our chance to honor my mother for all her years of loving devotion to her kids, and grandkids and great grandkids. And for 9 decades of living which is rare these days. Her mother, my grandmother lived to be 100 years old when she died in 1991. I have some good genes in me. I pray whatever time the Lord has for me on earth, I would be faithful and devoted to Him and His call on my life.
Before the celebration, I will be worshipping the Lord with the Saints and teaching at the 10:45 am hour on the two natures of Christ from Colossians 1:15-17. I have studied this passage and it is a well of biblical and theological truth that cannot be exhausted. I pray for a special time with the Saints as we look at one of the great mysteries of the faith, the incarnation. Praise the Lord.
