The Inspiration of Scripture
We move to the evidential method of Defending the Christian Faith. After establishing the proof of the existence of God from the existing order we move to the source of written special Revelation which is the Holy Scriptures. 2Timothy 3:16 is the classic text which speaks of the Inspiration of Scripture.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
The word in the Greek for inspiration is theopneustos, meaning literally "God Breathed. This word is only used once in Scripture and it is only used in reference to Scripture. That is powerful evidence of its origin, its uniqueness, and infallibility. It is the basis for the Evangelical doctrine of Sola Scriptura. Scripture alone is sufficient to function as the infallible rule of faith for the Church. But that will be a doctrine I will discuss in a few months. Tomorrow, I will discuss the evidence for inspiration of the Bible.
